Futures Program

For Budding Soccer Players Age 5-8

Fostering A Life-Long Love Of The Game

The primary goal of the PCSC Futures Program is to teach the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment in order to facilitate a successful transition from seasonal Rec League soccer into a full-year competitive program.

This is a skills & drills program - players do not participate in league-based games.

Led by professional, experienced coaches and assisted by the Club's junior coaches, the Futures Program is a structured environment in which the fundamentals of soccer can be taught -- such as individual ball skills -- through age and developmentally-appropriate training sessions. Training sessions are designed to create a fun environment for any young person who wants to play soccer while helping them develop the tools they will need to be successful at playing the game in the future.

Ultimately, the scope of Park City Soccer Club's youth Futures Program has a three-fold emphasis:

Develop A Child's Love Of The Game

Technical Skill Development

Have Fun

FUTURES FAQS

  • When does registration open?

Registration opens at 9am on the dates identified in the "Important Dates" table towards the top of this page, generally 4 - 6 weeks before the program starts.

  • Can my player do rec league and Futures at the same time?

Yes! As long as the days of the week don't conflict, Futures is a perfect complement to rec soccer.

  • My child has never played soccer before. Can they do this program?

Yes! Futures is an introduction to soccer - it's great for first-time players.

  • If my player turns 5 after the program starts, can they still participate?

Officially? No. But interested parents should reach out to Futures Program Director, Matt Terwillegar to discuss their athleticism, attention span, and current activity level.

  • What if my player is new to soccer, but 9 years old. Can they still participate?

Program Director, Matt Terwillegar will make the final call, but his answer if generally no, unless there is a younger sibling also participating.

Experience has shown there is just to big a gap between the younger children in the program and 9 year olds, who get bored with the pace needed for the "littles."

  • How will I know if a training is canceled due to weather or other circumstances?

PCSC uses an app called Playmetrics for registration, schedules and communication. You will have signed upfor a Playmetrics account when registering your player.  Download the Playmetrics app and login with those credentials to see the calendar and any communication from the coaches.
