Park City Soccer Club
2012/13 Survey Results
__________________________________________________

Dear Parents:
The Park City Soccer Club Board of Directors would like to thank you for taking the time to participate in our annual survey. 88 people, representing approximately 40% of total surveys sent, responded. This is up from 33% last year. We received some valuable feedback from this; both positive and constructive. As a result, the following items are being implemented or improved to address areas of concern:

Communication:
  • Continue to promote semi-annual formal player feedback directly to parents and players from coaches (2 written); As you all know, we had some new coaches this year and this was be made part of all Coach’s contracts.
  • Team meeting at beginning of year with Coach, Manager, and parents to ensure parents are aware of goals for the team for the upcoming season;
  • Manager Meetings at beginning of year to review Manager Handbook and to ensure everyone is aware of the responsibility involved in being a Team Manager--Manager Meeting in Februeary to prepare for the Spring Season;
  • Push for more standard practice schedules and push Coaches and Managers to communicate them in a more timely manner;
  • Continue to promote regular updates of website by Team Managers to include practice and game schedules, results, photos, and other relevant information; We will push all teams to use the PCSC website as opposed to other alternative sites as we’re all better served if all information is in one place.
Training:
  • PCSC added technical sessions this year to elevate the level of training and give players another opportunity to work on specific skills outside of a team setting;
  • We are pushing coaches to have longer practices and to follow the US Soccer Coaching guidelines curriculum as much as practical at their respective level;
  • We will continue to offer additional programs like Functional Training, Drop-in, Summer League and Summer Camp as opportunities for kids to enjoy the game and get more touches on the ball;
  • The Academy program has been a tremendous success. We will continue to develop this program and utilize it for training opportunities and skill building for younger kids;
  • We will increase training or conditioning opportunities during Winter/Spring months (even if weather is a little uncomfortable for some).

There are also some things that were suggested where we need your participation for us all to benefit:
  • Commitment – Some of the teams have struggled to hold worthwhile practices during Winter and Summer months due to competing interests. While we recognize kids have vacations or participate in multiple activities, especially in Park City.  We need to ensure we are doing everything possible to get quality practice time for all kids/teams when scheduled. When you choose not to attend practice, you impact the entire team and ultimately the quality of PCSC. PCSC, and specifically the current Board, is committed to listening to your feedback and implementing many of your suggestions to fuel improvement. We need your commitment to utilize the opportunities now being offered.
  • Team Promotion/Recruiting – Many of us take photos at games and tournaments and some even share them with other members of your team. As you may be aware, we have a place on the PCSC website for photos to be shared. If you have photos worth sharing, please feel free to use this free service.  There are also ways for families to include players that may be interested in playing for PCSC teams.  This effort needs to be encouraged clubwide;
  • Morale – Parents and Managers, as well as PCSC, need to continue to seek opportunities for team activities outside games, training and tournaments. Team BBQs, hikes, skiing outings, etc. are all great ways for the teams (and parents) to bond and become a tighter unit, ultimately improving team play, cooperation, and morale.
Thanks for your participation and continued support. See you on the pitch!

Sincerely,

Park City Soccer Club Board of Directors
