Park City Soccer Club
2010/2011 Survey Results
__________________________________________________

Dear Parents:
The Park City Soccer Club Board of Directors would like to thank you for taking the time to participate in our annual survey. 88 people, representing 25% of total surveys sent, responded. This is down from 27% last year. We received some valuable feedback from this; both positive and constructive. As a result, the following items are being implemented or improved to address areas of concern:

Communication:
  • Semi-annual formal player feedback directly to parents and players from coaches (one written and one verbal per year);
  • Team meeting at beginning of year with Coach, Manager, and parents to ensure parents are aware of goals for the team for the upcoming season;
  • Manager Meetings at beginning of year to review Manager Handbook and to ensure everyone is aware of the responsibility involved in being a Team Manager;
  • Promote regular updates of website by Team Managers to include practice and game schedules, results, photos, and other relevant information;
Training:
  • The Club will be using additional trainers this season to elevate the level of training and player interaction during training sessions;
  • We will continue to offer additional training opportunities for those interested (Guti’s playdates, Striker training, Goalie training, etc.)
  • The Academy program has been a tremendous success. We will continue to develop this program and utilize it for training opportunities for younger kids;
  • We will work hard to increase training opportunities during Winter / Spring months (even if weather is a little uncomfortable for some).

There are also some things that were suggested where we need your participation for us all to benefit:

  • Team photos on website – Many of us take photos at games and tournaments and some even share them with other members of your team. As you may be aware, we have a place on the Club website for photos to be shared. If you have photos worth sharing, please feel free to use this free service.
  • Morale – Parents and Managers, as well as the Club, need to continue to seek opportunities for team activities outside games, training and tournaments. Team BBQs, hikes, skiing outings, etc. are all great ways for the teams (and parents) to bond and become a tighter unit, ultimately improving team play, cooperation, and morale.
  • Commitment – Some of the teams have struggled to hold worthwhile practices during Winter months due to competing interests. While we recognize kids participate in multiple activities, especially in Park City, we need to ensure we are doing everything possible to get quality practice time for all kids / teams when scheduled.
Finally, one note of clarification. There were a few people that expressed concern about the amount of Club provided scholarships. The Club allocates about $35K per year toward this, which allows about 30 kids to participate that would otherwise not be able to join the Club. This scholarship fund allows some of our teams to exist. Without this fund, we would struggle to field teams, let alone competitive teams, at a few age groups. As a Board, we believe this is a worthy and noble use of approximately 6.5% of our revenue.

Thanks for your participation and continued support. See you on the pitch!

Sincerely,

Park City Soccer Club Board of Directors
